The Story Behind Peter Poulsen Bathroom Renovations

It all started in 1978 when Peter Poulsen--a 26 year old plumber--first decided to diversify services in his newly formed business and began renovating bathrooms. Since then neither he nor his many extremely satisfied and grateful clients, have looked back--that is, unless it’s to admire a newly renovated bathroom.

Well over 4 decades later and Peter’s Bathroom Renovations remains a proud pillar of homegrown Yeronga QLD business excellence. Over this time, the industry of home renovations has shifted and fluctuated with the increased reliance on imported supplies and the explosion of DIY enthusiasts inspired by home renovation reality TV. Throughout this, Peter has remained steadfast in his commitment to uncompromising quality, customer service and renovation excellence.

Thanks to his simple business model: to provide a “good job done for a fair price”, Peter and his team have never been forgotten by a single customer and enjoy an unblemished professional reputation.

In fact, many of the current bathroom projects under renovation were originally renovated by Peter himself some 30 odd years ago. It adds a whole new dimension to the value of a “repeat customer”.

It’s not Peter’s unrivalled longevity in the industry or his triple threat qualifications of Restricted Builder, Drainage and Plumber Licenses that has kept Bathroom Renovations in business for all this time. It is thanks to Peter’s unique level of genuine care for the work he does and the customer he does the work for.

Peter’s greatest success is not the sparkling new bathrooms or the customers with ear-to-ear smiles: it’s the loyal team he’s built around him who take as much pride in providing truly excellent work as he does. 

Working with the same plumber for over 40 years, the same electrician and cabinet maker for over 30 years, and the same stonemason for 35 years (and now his son), Peter has ensured that all of his customers get access to top quality materials and service, sourced from local suppliers and installed by local tradespeople he himself trusts completely.

The level of loyalty and commitment Peter has inspired in his team is not just unique across the renovation and construction industry but unique for any industry. Peter Poulsen Bathroom Renovations is more than just a family business. Though one day, when Peter hangs up the tools, his son Ben will take over providing the stellar service they’ve become known for, the familial feelings extend beyond that. Every member of the team works, acts and gets along with each other like one big family.

Peter Poulsen is a 5th generation Yeronga resident with the Poulsen family first arriving in the area in the late 1800s. Between his history and his recognition of the unparalleled quality of locally produced materials and unmatched level of service provided by local businesses, Peter only works with tried and tested Australian products and businesses. If a supplier doesn’t stand behind what they sell, he doesn’t stand behind the supplier. Each and every customer knows that by using Peter and his team they’re not just investing in a stunning, high quality bathroom, but also in local businesses and the community as well.

Stability & Reliability

Though the days of his customers contacting him via a brick-sized, manually dialled mobile phone mounted onto the dashboard of his van and dependent on the enormous aerial stuck to the roof are over, Peter remains available for his customers 24 hours a day, 7 days a week. His customers know that when they have an urgent enquiry at 10pm or can only be home for a quote on Saturday, Peter is the one name they can always count on. Always. No concern is too petty, no question too pedantic. Peter won’t rest until his customers can all be assured he and his team are working towards their shared, common goal.
